2) [Katsuo] 21-12-2007(23): Imagine the character Death (the shroud-wearing skeleton) carrying an armful of flags. He goes round at night sticking a flag in each corpse. (i.e. to distinguish it from those who are merely sleeping).

3) [kapalama] 9-10-2011(7): 屍 , 屍体 =死体, 屍蠟 =屍蝋, corpse (#2222 屍) シ, しかばね, かばね … Parts:尸, 死 (cf 死亡 death (#815 死), 葬式 interment (#816 葬), 骨 skeleton (#1288 骨), 躯 body [old] (#2986 躯), 骸 remains (#2874 骸)) … Note: This kanji is why the 尸 Flag Primitive is actually called the Corpse Radical (しかばね) … Story: I Pee on your Dead Corpse.

4) [gavmck] 14-2-2010(5): After an heroic death, the corpse was draped in a flag for burial.

5) [aircawn] 18-11-2007(4): Death, with his oversized spoon instead of sickle, drapes a flag over the corpse left lying around without any dignity.
