Unlike poison hemlock (conium), the species of Tsuga are not poisonous." Story: In ancient Japan mothers planted hemlock tree in their gardens when child was born.

4) [astridtops] 11-10-2006(6): Hemlock is a plant with white flowers and finely divided leaves, and it produces the mother of all poisons. But actually, there is also a tree called Hemlock, which apparently grows in the US, on the west coast. I wonder if it is as poisonous…?
