On-Yomi: サイ — Kun-Yomi: まつ.る、まつ.り、まつり

Koohii stories:

1) [nolusu] 8-8-2007(404): A ritual such as a circumcision: a small piece of flesh from the crotch is left on the altar.

2) [dingomick] 17-4-2007(41): There are many famous penis matsuris(festivals) in Japan. The rituals of these festivals involve placing the flesh of the crotch on an altar.

3) [TheSlakey] 11-12-2008(12): まつり（ 祭り ）Ritual nude dances (nothing but flesh) involving lots of pelvic thrusts before the altars of ancient Japan. Now they're nothing but festivals, but back in the day they were rituals. Most Japanese festivals have a circle dance, just imagine all the old people doing the except same dance but in the buff, wrinkly flesh flapping in the wind and all. Remembered. Unfortunately, perhaps forever.

4) [DrJones] 18-1-2008(12): This kanji is used for festivals. [Flesh from one leg … show] I think of those sexy high slit skirts, the ones that let you see the leg of its wearer.

5) [narafan] 30-9-2007(6): The top part of this kanji I memorize as circumcision. - - - - - - - – - - - - - - - - - In an ancient ritual, people are shown how to circumsize their newborns.
