Koohii stories:
1) [Katsuo] 25-8-2008(28): The snapping turtle is ordering lunch at a restaurant, "I'll have the shredded old eel – and make it snappy!". (Picture the waiter putting old eels through the shredder before serving them).
2) [errtu] 30-9-2010(23): 3000… im so proud.
3) [enryu] 5-9-2009(8): (Note: Bottom 黽 means Green frog /industry. Check your Japanese dictionary.) Story - The Snapping turtle eats through green frogs like a shredder eats through paper.
4) [dannyboy4885] 31-10-2012(2): Watch this link (39 mins, 20 secs in) and you'll never forget this kanji again! (Story coming soon!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q46lLez60PQ&feature=related.
5) [gavmck] 22-3-2010(2): 黽: crown>tail>one>walking stick>one>back to back staples. Turtles live a long time so a walking stick is no surprise. Remove the staples and you have pictograph of a letter t (for turtle) with curved tail. The 2 ones bridge crown and tail/stick to create a pair of "eyes". Now put the staples back again. The staples form a mortar. An upturned empty turtle shell could be used as a mortar of sorts. STORY: A snapping turtle would make a good bio-shredder.
